Rising Sun Farm prides itself on being stewards to the land, and so we take care to farm it in the most healthy and respectable way we can. We use a 5 year crop rotation to maintain soil health and plant resiliency. We plant cover crops to add organic matter to the soil as well as to prevent soil erosion. We use natural fertilization and nutrients to make sure our vegetables are as nutrient dense as possible. We use only certified organic (OMRI listed) sprays for harmful insects. We never use harmful chemicals anywhere.
We grow about 30 types of vegetables such as kale, collards, chard, lettuce, salad mix, cilantro, parsley, radishes, scallions, tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic, beans, peas, cucumber, zucchini, winter squash, dill, corn, potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, beets, carrots, cabbage, and more.
There’s nothing like a fresh strawberry in early summer, when the juice is still warm from the sun. Organically grown and sweet as can be, these berries are a local favorite.
